I, Htay Aung (Theo), founder of Dāna Education, would like to welcome you to our webpage and share with you the meaning of Dāna Education. Dāna means "Generosity," which aligns closely with the definition of Education (receiving or giving knowledge). Therefore, there is no exact way to translate Dāna Education. We aim to address the educational needs of underprivileged children and youth from all backgrounds. Your visit means that one more person is learning about our mission, actions, and vision.

By providing comprehensive educational support our solution focuses on creating a safe, secure, inclusive, and protective environment where these children can access quality education experience and emotional support.

Thailand
Founded in 2024, Dāna Education's core work lies in the continuous passion and dedication to provide quality education to our students. Since the military regime took control over the country in Myanmar, the Democracy activists and those who joined the civil disobedience movements had to escape to Thailand to avoid persecution. Many families now live under harsh conditions, engaging in basic labor to survive, While some children are fortunate enough to attend Thai government schools, some others are unable to access formal education due to various barriers. Dāna Education seeks to fill this gap by providing essential support in several areas: Social and Emotional Support, Conversational English Program, and Arts and Sports.
Laos
Our very first project is designed to nurture a love of learning through our Reading Club, a space where young people can come together to engage with literature. This initiative offers an exciting opportunity for children to improve their reading skills, boost their public speaking abilities, and engage in meaningful discussions with their peers. The Reading Club sessions can take place in person or virtually, allowing flexibility and accessibility for all participants. Whether it's diving into a novel, exploring different genres, or sharing perspectives, each session helps to develop not only literacy skills but also confidence, critical thinking, and a sense of community.
